Manual Backtesting for Fundamental Screeners

Last month, we received a request from Azam to include YTD performance for each screener. We know this is very important to our users as well as all investors. Today, we proudly announce that we will be starting to implement manual backtesting. 

We are starting to backtest our fundamental screeners so that we can update which screeners give high return on your investment, and strongly beat the FBMKLCI index (Open: 1653.16 on 1 July 2016). We will be using opening price of each quarter for our buy price and stock will be sold at the closing of each quarter (Buy on 1st July, Sell on 31 September).

We are planning to do automatic backtesting in the future, especially for the technical screeners. As for now, we will continue to use manual backtesting because fundamentals of stocks tend to change only in the long term. Below are our stock picks for each screener:

Fundamental Analysis at a Glance

Everyday, thousands of investors and traders come to iSaham to find potential stocks for investment. Some have higher understanding about fundamental analysis and some are just beginning their journey in the stock market. We want to design the stock page so that the beginners can easily identify which stock that is fundamentally sound so that they can study the stock further.

Up until now, there are bunch of terms and numbers that newcomers need to look up on the web or ask their sifu to explain. 

Today, we are introducing iSaham Atmosphere. For each element of fundamental (ROE, Profit, DE etc), we color code the numbers to represent recommendation. If the number match the fundamental recommendation, a green color will be assigned. If the number does not meet the criteria, it will be colored as red.

Kaedah Pengiraan Mata iSaham Stock Screener

iSaham Stock Screener dibina untuk memudahkan proses pemilihan saham harian, swing dan juga long-term investor. Untuk long-term investor, pilih saham yang mempunyai fundamental yang kukuh dan mempunyai potensi yang besar dalam masa setahun, dua tahun, 10 tahun dan selamanya. Untuk swing trader dan harian, kami membuat screening technical menggunakan indikator-indikator penting seperti Stochastic, RSI, MACD. Kami juga membuat ranking untuk target price (peratus perbezaan dari harga sekarang) dan feature beta kami iaitu menilai fibonacci retracement atau dalam bahasa lainnya, harga sekiranya saham membuat rebound atau correction.
